“Swim for Habitat” is now “Swim Bike Run for Habitat”! After such amazing participation over the past several years, we have decided to add an element to our Swim for Habitat fundraiser. We are teaming up Fitness Shop, a local fitness equipment company and we are so excited to see how this great event for Habitat for Humanity can grow!

Are you a triathlete? Or maybe just a swimmer, runner, or biker? How about just donating your time and sign up to Swim Bike Run for Habitat at the Seattle Home Show? Starting Saturday, February, 14th you can Swim Bike Run for Habitat and Aqua Quip, the Seattle Home Show and BECU will make a donation to Habitat for Humanity for each level of participation you complete.

The Swim Spa, Stationary Bike and Treadmill will be set up on the show floor at the Seattle Home Show at Centurylink Field. You can see the schedule below and click to sign up here. Times are limited for the full Triathlon style events, so make sure you arrange for your slot today! We also encourage friends and family to step up and add to the donation, if they can’t swim themselves. Donations can be made directly to Habitat for Humanity of Seattle – King County and through their website (*Don’t forget to select Swim for Habitat in your donation designation*).

Rules:

  • Each participant (individual, or team) can sign up for 1, 2, or all 3 triathlon events*
  • Teams cannot include more than 3 people
  • 1 Swimming event is up to 45 minutes in Aqua Quip’s Hydropool AquaTrainer Swim Spa
  • 1 Biking is up to 10k on an excessive bike from Fitness Shop
  • 1 Running is up to 5k on a treadmill from Fitness Shop
  • While swimming, the swimmer cannot touch any part of the SwimSpa, any person, or thing in order to stabilize themselves or aid in the completion of the event
  • The swim time will end once the swimmer has touched any part of the spa, any person or thing or once the entire 45 minutes has been completed
  • All participants must be 18 or older, or have a parent or legal guardian sign

 

Donation Specifications:

  • Every participant is strongly encouraged to supply their own additional donation upon participating in the Swim Bike Run. These extra donations will be added onto the sum raised by the triathlon (as detailed below) and donated to Habitat for Humanity.
  • Each single event completed will earn the participant a $50 donation to Habitat for Humanity
  • Completing 2 events qualifies the participant/team for the 2X Multiplier
  • The 2X Multiplier: If 1 participant/team completes 2 events, they will earn a total of $200 ($50 per event = $100. $100 x 2  = $200)
  • Completing the entire triathlon (all 3 events) qualifies the team for a total donation of $400 to Habitat for Humanity ($200 for the first 2 events, and an extra $200 for completing the 3rd event)
  • At the end of the Seattle Homeshow, the sum of all money raised will be divided 3 ways between Aqua Quip, BECU, and the Seattle Homeshow, and donated in it’s entirety to Habitat for Humanity.

 

Official Description:

Aqua Quip, BECU and the Seattle Home Show are teaming up with Habitat for Humanity for a Swim for Charity Event at this year’s Seattle Home Show. Participants can sign up to swim bike and run, or pick two events and the Seattle Home Show, BECU and Aqua Quip will make a combined donation to Habitat for Humanity. Participants are also encouraged to ask family and friends to come down and cheer their athlete on and sponsor them for an additional donation.

We are excited to help you raise money for Habitat for Humanity. Please click the “Sign up” button below and select your preferred date and time for the weekends of February 20-21 and February 26-27. Available dates and time to swim are listed below for your reference.

* • Plan for up to 1 hour time for the completion of any single event (actual event must be completed in under 45 minutes)
• Participants (individual/team) signed up for 2 events will complete them consecutively in under 2 hours (45 minutes per event maximum)
• For full triathlon participants, you will complete the 45 minute Swim, 10k Bike, and 5k Run consecutively in under 3 hours (45 minutes per event maximum)
