Once-A-Week 3-Step Pool Care Program

BioGuard’s Once-a-Week 3-Step Program is ideal for above-ground and in-ground pools that meet the following qualifiers:

• Up to 25,000 gallons
• Pump circulation 10 to 24 hours per day*
• Proper water flow through skimmers, with adequate skimmer basket area
• Any surface type
  

Here are the specifics:

STEP 1:
Keep pool water sanitized with BioGuard Smart Sticks®

• Extra long-lasting chlorine sanitizer that dissolves slowly, and all but stops dissolving when pump is off
• Kills and prevents bacteria, while maintaining proper chlorine levels
• Easy to apply to skimmer, no special feeder required.

*If pump circulation is more than 12 hours per day, Smart Sticks may need to be applied more often than once per week.

The benefits of the BAQUACIL® Pool Care Systems are many.  The chlorine-free formulation is gentle and non-irritating to eyes and skin, it’s gentle on swimsuits and pool liners.  The BAQUACIL System keeps water clear, silky and soft, and most of all, it’s easy to use.  BAQUACIL offers three simple 3-step, three product chlorine-free systems.

BAQUACIL CDX™ System
The BAQUACIL CDX System is an enhanced CHLORINE-FREE system specially formulated to maintain a consistent oxidizer residual in pool water.  The oxidizer residual in pool water plays a significant role in removing contaminants that put a strain on the pool and keeping the pool clear all season long. This system is ideal for all pools.

Step 1 — Sanitize with: BAQUACIL Sanitizer and Algistat

Step 2 — Oxidize with: BAQUACIL Oxidizer

Step 3 — Maintain Oxidizer Residual and Water Clarity with BAQUACIL CDX

For areas where algae problems are prevalent or in pools with a history of recurring algae, a preventative dose of BAQUACIL Algicide or BAQUACIL Performance Algicide may be added to the weekly CDX maintenance system during the hottest months of the summer..  Be sure to follow label directions for dosage recommendations.

BAQUACIL Standard System
The 2^nd BAQUACIL Standard System is a simple chlorine-free 3-step pool care system composed of three core products:

Mineral Springs Pool Care Program

You’ll love everything about the Mineral Springs system.  For starters, it’s almost "hands-off," and takes only a few minutes a week to maintain. In fact, once you’ve begun the system, you only have to add the Renewal® product once a week. That’s it!

The Mineral Springs system is perfect for frequent travelers or vacation-takers. Through proper use of the system, you can leave home and forget your pool while you enjoy your trip. Even better, with Renewal you can add advanced applications for weeks ahead. This system works for you!

The Mineral Springs system utilizes easy-to-apply minerals and an automatic device to produce a chlorine sanitizer:

Beginnings®
A proprietary blend of minerals added to pool water at start-up

Renewal®
Helps to replenish mineral levels, keeping water soft and clear

The Mineral Springs Unit [Controller and Cell]
Utilizes Beginnings and Renewal products to produce a chlorine sanitizer.

The Process
Essential elements pass through the Mineral Springs cell to produce sanitizer. The minerals are converted into free chlorine that kills bacteria and algae in the pool. The cell, along with the flow detector, are plumbed into the pool return line piping. The flow switch/detector informs the controller that water is flowing and that the generation process can start. The temperature and mineral level sensors keep the Mineral Springs controller calibrated regardless of pool temperature.

Beginnings
Adds BioGuard’s proprietary blend of elements and stable minerals to water, creating a total mineral bathing environment. You’ll notice the difference immediately.

Usage requires minerals to be present in pool water. Apply one bag per 1,000 gallons of pool water at start-up or as needed to obtain proper mineral levels. 

Renewal
Replenishes lost mineral levels and rejuvenates the Mineral Springs® system. Renewal® contains pH balancers and adjusters to offset pH drift including chelants and scale inhibitors. This helps prolong the life span of the Mineral Springs electrolytic cell. Renewal also contains a filter aid and helps in maintaining crystal clear water.

Apply one bag per 20,000 gallons weekly to replenish mineral levels. 
 

Mineral Springs Units

BioGuard® currently offers 5 Mineral Springs® units to meet the needs of all pool types–in-ground, above-ground; large or small.

MS-10 and MS-11
Treat in-ground residential pools up to 40,000 gallons or commercial pools up to 25,000 gallons. The MS-10 model can be hardwired either 120 VAC or 240 VAC. The MS-11 model is a 120 VAC with a line cord for a GFI outlet.

MS-20, MS-22 and MS-23
Treat above-ground pools up to 18,000 gallons. The MS-20 and MS-22 models are 120 VAC with a line cord for a GFI outlet. The MS-23 model is a 120 VAC with a line cord, but contains a twist lock plug. [The electrical code in some areas of the US requires this type of plug.] The MS-22 and MS-23 are installed directly to the return jet.

NOTE: While any of these models may be installed on above-ground pools, final selection is based upon plumbing set-up.
